What subnautica2map.org is, and isn’t

A fan-made navigation utility for Subnautica 2, built for players who want to find the nearest verified resource node in seconds — not scroll a fan blog.

Not affiliated with Unknown Worlds or KRAFTON

subnautica2map.org is an unofficial, community-run map and guide. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Unknown Worlds Entertainment, KRAFTON, or any official Subnautica team. Game names, screenshots, item names, and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used here under nominative fair use for the purpose of describing the game.

If you are a rights holder and want a takedown or change — including formal DMCA notices — email hello@subnautica2map.org with the URL, the issue, and (for DMCA) the statutory information required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3). We respond within 3 business days.

What “verified” means

Subnautica 2 is in Early Access. The world shifts between patches: nodes get moved, biomes get rebuilt, whole regions arrive late. Every coordinate we ship is tagged against a specific EA build (currently 1.0.x, last reviewed 2026-05-18) and assigned one of five confidence levels:

C5 Verified
Verified in the current EA build by 3+ players, screenshot or in-game video on file.
C4 Cross-checked
Two independent community sources agree within ±50m. Default-visible.
C3 Community
Single plausible community report. Default-visible.
C2 Unconfirmed
Submitted but not yet verified. Hidden by default; opt-in via the “show uncertain” toggle (coming Phase 2).
C1 Outdated
Last seen in an earlier EA build. Likely moved or removed. Hidden by default.

Where the data comes from

Coordinates are sourced primarily from publicly posted player notes (Reddit /r/subnautica_2, Steam Community guides, dedicated wikis like the Subnautica 2 Wiki), corroborated where possible against guides from PCGamer, Game8, Destructoid, Gamerant, and Sportskeeda. Every row in our dataset cites the publishers it relied on, and we keep the last-checked date with each source.

The current seed dataset is small and clearly marked as “placeholder” in the source code. Real seed import (50–80 verified points) is targeted before public launch.

Report a wrong location

If a coordinate is moved, outdated, missing, or just plain wrong, please submit a correction — every report goes into a single Google Form. The form pre-fills the POI ID, the page URL, and the current coordinates so you only have to add what the real value should be and (ideally) a screenshot.

Open the correction form

Anyone with the link can submit; we don’t require sign-in. Email is optional — leave it blank if you don’t want a reply.

Contribute a new location

Found a node we don’t list? Use the same correction form and pick “new” in the “What changed?” dropdown. Include the resource, your current EA build, and a screenshot of the in-game HUD if you can — that’s how we promote a node from C3 to C4.

Privacy

The Navigator stores the coordinates and resource you last entered in your browser’s localStorage under the key s2map:navigator-state:v1. Nothing is sent to a server; we don’t know your in-game position. To clear it, open your browser’s site data settings for subnautica2map.org and delete it — or open the Navigator and use any future “Clear my data” control we add (Phase 2).

We collect anonymous page-view analytics via Cloudflare. No cookies, no fingerprint, no cross-site tracking.

Build changelog

We rebuild the verified-location set after every official Unknown Worlds EA patch. Detailed per-patch notes are planned for Phase 2.

Support the project

subnautica2map.org is free to use and ad-free. If the Navigator saved you a swim, a small tip helps us keep verifying coordinates after each EA patch.
