What subnautica2map.org is, and isn’t

A fan-made navigation utility for Subnautica 2, built for players who want to compare the nearest build-pinned resource candidate in seconds — not scroll a fan blog.

Not affiliated with Unknown Worlds or KRAFTON

subnautica2map.org is an unofficial, community-run map and guide. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Unknown Worlds Entertainment, KRAFTON, or any official Subnautica team. What the confidence labels mean

Subnautica 2 is in Early Access. The world shifts between patches: nodes get moved, biomes get rebuilt, whole regions arrive late. Every coordinate candidate we ship is tagged against a specific EA build (currently Hotfix 2 / 23357846, last reviewed 2026-05-24) and assigned one of five confidence levels:

C5 Evidence-backed
Reserved for rows personally confirmed in the current EA build, with in-game HUD screenshot or video evidence on file.
C4 Cross-checked
A direct screenshot or exact public coordinate is backed by at least one independent route source. Default-visible, but still rechecked after major EA patches.
C3 Community
One or more credible route sources agree on the area, but exact XYZ is estimated. Default-visible as a candidate, not a guarantee.
C2 Unconfirmed
Submitted but not yet confirmed. Hidden by default; opt-in via the “show uncertain” toggle (coming Phase 2).
C1 Outdated
Last seen in an earlier EA build. Likely moved or removed. Hidden by default.

Where the data comes from

Coordinates are sourced primarily from public route guides, article screenshots, public map data, Steam patch notes, and community reports. Every visible row cites the publishers it relies on, the source type, the last-checked date, and any direct screenshot URL we used as evidence.

The current dataset is intentionally small. Rows marked C3 are route candidates, not exact node guarantees; rows marked C4 have stronger screenshot or raw-coordinate support but still wait for current-build player verification before becoming C5.

Report a wrong location

If a coordinate is moved, outdated, missing, or just plain wrong, please submit a correction — every report goes into a single Google Form. The form pre-fills the POI ID, the page URL, and the current coordinates so you only have to add what the real value should be and (ideally) a screenshot.

Open the correction form

Anyone with the link can submit; we don’t require sign-in. Email is optional — leave it blank if you don’t want a reply.

Contribute a new location

Found a node we don’t list? Use the same correction form and pick “new” in the “What changed?” dropdown. Include the resource, your current EA build, and a screenshot of the in-game HUD if you can — that’s how we promote a node from C3 to C4.

Privacy

The Navigator stores the coordinates and resource you last entered in your browser’s localStorage under the key s2map:navigator-state:v1. Nothing is sent to a server; we don’t know your in-game position. To clear it, open your browser’s site data settings for subnautica2map.org and delete it — or open the Navigator and use any future “Clear my data” control we add (Phase 2).

We collect anonymous page-view analytics via Cloudflare. No cookies, no fingerprint, no cross-site tracking.

Build changelog

We rebuild the candidate-location set after every official Unknown Worlds EA patch before promoting rows to stronger confidence levels. Detailed per-patch notes are planned for Phase 2.

Support the project

subnautica2map.org is free to use and ad-free. If the Navigator saved you a swim, a small tip helps us keep verifying coordinates after each EA patch.
